Some features in many Adobe applications require the Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE). In Mac OS 10.7, Java is no longer preinstalled but is an optional installation item.
I go to the Flash Player site and they say, 'Flash Player 10.3.183.5 to get the best experience with Mac OS X Lion', but then I cannot find a place to download that version. Also I am not sure how secure that version is. Mac OS X Lion (version 10.7) is the eighth major release of Mac OS X (now named macOS), Apple's desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers. A preview of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion was publicly shown at the 'Back to the Mac' Apple Special Event on October 20, 2010.
Current Adobe installers and applications were built before these changes to Mac OS and anticipate that Java is installed. Adobe and Apple worked together to ensure that you can install Java with Mac OS 10.7, or at a later time before you install Adobe applications. (When you start an Adobe application, you are prompted to install Java if it isn't already installed.) In a corporate IT environment, be sure to preinstall Java, or make sure that it can be installed through firewalls or other security software.
If the Java Runtime isn't installed, the following issues can occur in Adobe applications:
- Features are missing or behave improperly
- The software doesn't start
- Prompts to install Java Runtime occur
- Applications hang or quit
For instructions to install the Java Runtime, see How to install the Java Runtime (JRE) | Mac OS 10.7 Lion.

Mac OS 10.7 has some exciting new features such as Autosave, Restore, Versioning, Full Screen Mode, and more multi-touch gestures. Adobe Reader plug-in and Acrobat plug-in are not compatible with the Safari 5.1 browser, included with Mac OS 10.7 and for 10.6 in July 2011. Adobe Reader and Acrobat continue to work as stand-alone applications on Mac OS 10.7 and 10.6, and render PDF documents outside the browser. In addition, Safari 5.1 renders PDF documents natively. However, the Adobe Reader and Acrobat plug-ins don't function as expected in LiveCycle. And Acrobat workflows that require either plug-in to render PDF documents in Safari 5.1.

Adobe will provide updates as it continues to investigate this issue. For additional information, see Apple Safari 5.1 and Adobe Reader/Acrobat Advisory.

Adobe flash player cs6 free download for mac. The Adobe Flash Player is a widely distributed proprietary multimedia and application player created by Macromedia and now developed and distributed by Adobe after its acquisition. Flash Player runs SWF files that can be created by the Adobe Flash authoring tool, by Adobe Flex or by a number of other Macromedia and third party tools. Adobe Flash, or simply Flash, refers to both a multimedia authoring program and the Adobe Flash Player, written and distributed by Adobe, that uses vector and raster graphics, a native scripting language called ActionScript and bidirectional streaming of video and audio. Strictly speaking, Adobe Flash is the authoring environment and Flash Player is the virtual machine used to run the Flash files, but in colloquial language these have become mixed: Flash can mean either the authoring environment, the player, or the application files. Flash Player has support for an embedded scripting language called ActionScript (AS), which is based on ECMAScript. Since its inception, ActionScript has matured from a script syntax without variables to one that supports object-oriented code, and may now be compared in capability to JavaScript (another ECMAScript-based scripting language).
